TIME TO TAKE ACTION!

Request for Additional CERTS Act Funding (Tour and Travel Members)

The U.S. tourism and travel industries depend on a thriving motorcoach industry to support our operations.  Motorcoach companies providing services to group tourists are a critical part of the economy, from touring national parks to taking day trips as part of cruise ship land-based operations.  The economic value these motorcoaches generate in terms of bringing customers to hotels, entertainment venues, restaurants, and retailers, for both large cities and small towns, cannot be understated.

We recognize and appreciate the $2 billion in relief Congress provided for the CERTS program in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021, but candidly it is not enough.  The Treasury Department now confirms the CERTS program is woefully oversubscribed 4:1, with 2020 losses for the CERTS Act industries totaling $8.7 billion.

We need a healthy motorcoach industry - the nation needs a healthy tour and travel industry.  You cannot “build back better” without buses!  We are asking Congressional leadership to include an additional $6 billion in funding for the CERTS program in the upcoming reconciliation package.

Take action now and help us get the word out that we still need help!

Request for Additional CERTS Act Funding (Bus Operator Members)

The motorcoach industry is thankful that Congress included $2 billion in funding for the Coronavirus Economic Relief for Transportation Services or CERTS Act program in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021, however, the industry still needs help.

The U.S. Treasury has confirmed that the needs of the motorcoach industry far exceeded the funding level of the CERTS Act grant program by nearly $7 billion.  In addition, that funding was based on the industry’s losses in 2020 and does not even consider the significant losses in 2021.  As Congress considers the reconciliation legislation to enact President Biden’s American Jobs Plan and American Families Plan, we are respectfully requesting the inclusion of $6 billion in additional funding for the CERTS program.

Take action now and help us get the word out that we still need help!
