Lewis H. Myers, III
Director of Government Relations & Research
As Director of Government Relations & Research at ABA, I lead the tracking, management, and advancement of policy initiatives that support our members and strengthen ABA’s presence on Capitol Hill. I also oversee the Foundation’s research division, helping deliver the industry data and insights that inform our advocacy efforts and support smart organizational decision-making.
What I enjoy most about this work is that this industry reaches far beyond motorcoaches. It plays an important role across the broader transportation and group travel ecosystem, helping keep people and communities connected. I also value the chance to engage directly with our members. Their feedback and real-world perspective help shape our priorities and keep our work grounded in what matters most.
Before joining ABA, I spent 12 years in Congress, beginning in 2012. I had the opportunity to serve powerful and influential members in both the House and Senate before transitioning to ABA in November 2024. That experience gave me a strong understanding of Capitol Hill, the policy process, and the relationships needed to advance ideas. I draw on that background every day to help advance policies that benefit our members and the industry.
One area I’m especially passionate about is ABA’s work to raise awareness around human trafficking. It became a personal priority for me when I joined the organization, and I’m proud to be part of an association that is committed to making a meaningful difference.
Outside of work, I’m a big fan of golf and sports, enjoy gardening whenever I can, and am also a lifetime sustaining member of NPR.
