The Women in Buses Council (WIB) supports the growth, visibility, and success of women across the motorcoach and group travel industry.

Through mentorship, education, and community-driven programming, WIB creates opportunities for members to connect, learn, and build lasting relationships across all segments of the industry.

Open to all ABA members, WIB fosters an inclusive environment where individuals at every stage of their career can engage, contribute, and grow.

WIB Wednesdays Series | 2:00 PM ET

Monthly virtual meeting of Women in Buses members. The series is held on the first Wednesday of each month.

Meet & Eat Series | 1:00 PM ET

Gather, share, and network monthly with other Women in Buses Council members on the third Wednesday of each month.

Book Club

The idea for the book club was formed in 2020 to keep growing in knowledge, networking, and leadership throughout the year.

The Women in Buses Council is dedicated to advancing the role of women in the motorcoach and group travel industry through mentorship, education, and connection.

By creating opportunities for leadership development, shared learning, and meaningful engagement, WIB supports professional growth and helps build a stronger, more inclusive industry.

Four priorities guide the Council’s work:

  • Expand Networking and Engagement Opportunities: Bring members together through programs, events, and peer connections that strengthen relationships across the industry.
  • Deliver Relevant Education and Industry Insight: Provide webinars, discussions, and content shaped by member feedback and evolving industry needs.
  • Promote Leadership and Visibility Across the Industry: Encourage and support women in taking on leadership roles and contributing to the future of the motorcoach and group travel industry.

WIB Committees

WIB consists of three committees to meet the distinct needs and expectations of the council’s diverse members.

Works on issues of importance to the CEO, general manager, and other bus company executives/decision-makers who are women.

  • Provide education on management topics.
  • Participate in an active network of women bus executives.
  • Identify opportunities for advocacy and/or speak to legislators on the national, regional, and statewide levels.
  • Develop a mentoring program for future women bus executives.

This committee may interest the following members:

  • Bus Company Owners
  • Bus Company General Managers
  • Bus Company Executives

Addresses topics of importance to the safe operation and maintenance of the motorcoach fleet.

  • Create a network of women bus operators and the vendors that supply equipment and services necessary to the operations of the fleet.
  • Provide education/training on new motorcoach products and services.
  • Identify best practices for the safety and security of the motorcoach fleet.
  • Develop resources to assist in the maintenance and options of the motorcoach fleet.
  • Build a network of resources for equipment breakdowns, driver needs, etc.

This committee may interest the following members:

  • Bus Operator Operations & Maintenance Staff
  • Motorcoach Drivers
  • Bus Manufacturers
  • Associate (Products & Services) Members
  • Bus Operator Executives
  • Bus Operator Safety Staff

Explores solutions to issues the travel, tour, and charter segment faces, including tour product development. 

  • Create a network of tour and charter planners, DMO/CVB, and travel industry members for tour product development.
  • Provide education on industry trends, itinerary development, contracting/negotiations, co-op opportunities, and other important travel/tour topics.
  • Develop resources to assist in the promotion of this segment in the industry.
  • Build a mentoring program for new women in the travel, tour, and charter segment.
  • Participate in an active network of women tour professionals.
