Sensitivity Training for Bus Operators

This four-hour virtual workshop aims to educate bus operators on appropriate behavior and communication with people with disabilities. The workshop covers various topics, including assisting difficult customers, driver assistance and the ADA, service animals, effective communication, and disability awareness and sensitivity. It is appropriate for both fixed-route and demand-responsive bus operators.

Anyone can sign up for these public virtual workshops. Organizations may register as many staff as they would like. Participants must have individual registrations to participate.

Module 1: Assisting Difficult Customers
Module 2: Operator Assistance and the ADA
Module 3: Service Animals
Module 4: Effective Communication
Module 5: Disability Awareness and Sensitivity

NOTE: A minimum of 10 registrants is required. If we have not reached 10 registrants by one week before the workshop, it will be canceled, and you will receive a refund for your registration fee. Workshop registration will be capped at 30 participants. Payment must be made by credit card. No refunds or make-up sessions will be offered for those that miss sessions. You will not receive a completion certificate unless you participate in the entire workshop. Participants must have access to the internet and the ability to access zoom to participate.

Private Option: Virtual or In-Person Workshop

Easterseals Project Action is pleased to offer the workshop privately to your staff. A minimum of 4 participants are required, but you may have up to 30 participants in any one workshop. Easterseals will work with you to schedule the sessions in a way that works for you, even on weekends if needed. This workshop can be customized for audiences other than bus operators.
