Powered and Hand Tool Safety for Safety & Maintenance Professionals

Our shop employees work with hand and power tools on a daily basis. Although they never set out to be careless these tools are the cause of many incidents both at work and at home. In this session we will discuss the three rules of powered and hand tool safety – Avoid; Protect; and Defend. We will examine the basic do’s and don’ts for the power and hand tools our shop employees are likely to use most often. Proper safeguarding of powered tools will also be discussed.
