WIB Awards for 2027

The American Bus Association’s Women In Buses Award, presented by Motor Coach Industries, recognizes an individual or company that has directly impacted the advancement and promotion of women within and among the motorcoach, tourism, and hospitality industries.

Nominations open in Fall 2026.

An individual or organization may earn the award. Open to all ABA members.

Nominees would need to have directly influenced the advancement of the role of women in the motorcoach industry.

Primary Criteria

  • personal investment in networking in a way that improves the role of women in the motorcoach industry;
  • advancing or promoting professional education for women;
  • supporting or participating in a mentoring program for women in the motorcoach industry and
  • creating new or unique opportunities for women in some other but meaningful way.

Secondary Criteria:

  • Years in the business;
  • Overall professional/company success and
  • Contribution to the motorcoach industry overall.

Do you know an individual who is positively impacting their organization or company? Nominate them for the Women in Buses Operational Excellence Award, presented by Motor Coach Industries. The award recognizes an individual who displays excellence in service to their organization. This includes customer operations, drivers, mechanics, sales, or any other impactful area in the travel and tourism industry.

The award is open to all ABA members and recognizes individuals who work in the core of the company in maintenance, driving, operations, and customer service.

  • The ideal candidate displays dedication to their field and strives to make a difference through teamwork and commitment to excellence.
  • The candidate has been in the travel and tourism industry for three years.
  • The candidate works year-round in the travel and tourism industry.
  • The ideal candidate would not be a company or property owner in the tourism industry.

The American Bus Association serves a thriving industry that provides nearly 600 million passenger trips annually on charters, tours, scheduled service, and shuttles. Membership in ABA includes motorcoach operators, tour operators, tourism-related organizations, and products and service suppliers.
