Following its recent re-acquisition by CSS-Dynamac, the Transportation Safety Exchange Inc. (TSX), an independent safety review organization that provides safety reviews and compliance monitoring for more than 150 bus operators, announced it will be ceasing operations at the end of this year.
According to CSS-Dynamac Chairman of the Board Jolanda Janczewski, Ph.D., M.P.H., CSS-Dynamac decided to discontinue TSX and go forward with a different business model. She pointed out that while the company was discontinuing TSX, “CSS-Dynamac will continue to conduct safety reviews as we have done for the past 30 years.”
So, what happens to those companies that have been recently reviewed by TSX? Janczewski said that many of the end-user customers will continue to recognize the TSX Reviews for a period of two years from the date of the review. Also CSS inspectors performed the reviews for TSX and they will be available to answer any questions should the carriers or end users have any questions. This service will be provided at no cost to the carriers or end users.
Moving forward, CSS-Dynamac will only provide motorcoach safety reviews at end-users request. If a motorcoach company wants to be reviewed to be able to provide services to universities, school districts, etc., the request must come through those entities.
“We believe that this new model is more efficient for the motorcoach companies and our end-user clients.” Janczewski said.
