How did you first get involved in the industry?
I first got involved in the bus industry when I started working as marketing manager for Betterez, a SaaS platform that provides ticketing and reservation solutions for bus operators. Prior to that, I had worked in sales and marketing for other industries, but I was excited to join the team at Betterez and learn more about the bus industry.
Who has inspired your career?
I've been fortunate to have worked with a lot of talented and inspiring people throughout my career. One person who stands out is the VP of Betterez, who has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the bus and transportation industry. I've learned a lot from working with him and he's been a great mentor to me.
What has been the greatest challenge/opportunity in your career?
Keeping up with the rapid pace of change in the digital landscape. As a marketer, it's very important to stay ahead of new trends and technologies and to constantly adapt to new platforms. I think it requires a lot of flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to experiment and take risks.
What advice would you give to others about working in this industry?
My advice to others working in this industry (particularly newcomers) would be to approach it with an open mind and a willingness to learn. There's a lot to discover and uncover in the bus industry. It's a very unique industry with a lot of different players and stakeholders, so it can be challenging to navigate at times. It's also important to be patient and persistent, as change can take time.
Why is it important for you to belong to the Women in Buses Council?
Belonging to the Women in Buses Council is important to me because it's a great way to connect with and learn from other women in the industry. It's also an opportunity to give back and help support other women. The WIB Council provides a lot of valuable resources and opportunities for networking as well as professional development, and I'm proud to be a part of it!
