House Rejects Bid to Delay Dec. 18 ELD Mandate

The U.S. House of Representatives recently had another opportunity to weigh-in on the question of whether to postpone or delay the current federal mandate regarding adoption of electronic logging devices (ELDs). By a large majority, uniting Republicans and Democrats, the House voted to reject an amendment to delay the compliance date. The Administration, the U.S. Supreme Court, and the U.S. House of Representatives have now all spoken, the federal mandate for ELDs remains intact with a compliance date of December 18, 2017.

ABA urges all bus operators to heed the compliance date, and stands ready to assist operators.
