ABA Thanks Cape Cod, Massachusetts after a Successful Fall Board of Directors Meeting

For Immediate Release: Friday, September 25th, 2015

The American Bus Association wishes to thank its many partners in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, who worked so hard to host the ABA Board of Directors at its annual fall meeting September 20th-23rd.  It is the second time in three years the ABA Board of Directors has held its fall meeting there. The leadership of this region continue to show incredible hospitality, and there is strong support for the motorcoach, travel and tourism industry.

ABA’s Board of Directors, the staff and guests discussed many important issues concerning ways ABA can continue to grow and protect the business interests of its 3,800 members. The ABA Foundation Board of Governors also met prior to the regular ABA Board meeting. They discussed the Foundation's ongoing mission of research and providing scholarships to deserving college students interested in a career in the motorcoach, travel and tourism industry.

In addition to the Board meetings, several events were included to highlight the many great attractions the Cape. These included a reception and tour of the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum, which preserves and promotes the legacy of President Kennedy, his family, and their deep connection to Cape Cod. The Board had dinner at the Cape Cod Maritime Museum, which is dedicated to the maritime culture of the area and is preserving the region’s rich maritime traditions and history. The members also attended a clam bake at the historic Sea Crest Beach Hotel in Falmouth.

“Every time the ABA Board of Directors and its staff come to Cape Cod we are treated like family. The fantastic events and ocean setting, combined with the great work of our hosts and sponsors created a perfect environment to conduct ABA’s business and have a great time,” said ABA President & CEO Peter Pantuso, CTIS. “We are very fortunate to have these more than 40 splendid travel and tourism partners members, who understand and appreciate the importance of the motorcoach, travel and tourism industry and they are helping make it grow. We look forward to the next time we can bring ABA’s board and staff back to Cape Cod.”

“The people in Cape Cod always enjoy having the ABA Board of Directors here. It is an opportunity to showcase this beautiful, year-round tourism destination. The Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce/CVB and the local chambers have an excellent relationship with ABA. This meeting will only improve that partnership,” said Patti Lloyd the Vice President of Sales for the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau. “I want to thank the many sponsors and volunteers who stepped up, promoting Cape Cod and making this an incredible event happen. ABA’s Board of Directors, the staff and its guests are always welcome here.”

ABA wishes to thank all of the sponsors who participated and helped make the Board of Directors meeting successful.
