ABA congratulates the winners of the 2016 Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s (CVSA) North American Inspectors Championship (NAIC).
Winners in the North American Standard Level V Passenger Vehicle (Motorcoach) Inspection category included First Place, John Werner from the California Highway Patrol; Second Place, Trevor Todd from the British Columbia Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure; and Third Place, Jeremy Usener representing the Texas Department of Public Safety. ABA was a sponsor of the passenger vehicle inspection portion of the competition.
“The CVSA North American Inspectors Championship highlights the dedication and training that state inspection programs and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration are bringing to commercial motor vehicle personnel,” said ABA President & CEO Peter Pantuso, CTIS. “Encouraging the state enforcement agencies to produce and bring forth their best inspectors helps raise the level and consistency of motorcoach inspections and helps our members deliver our passengers safely to their destinations each day.”
“We congratulate the winners of this year’s competition, and look forward to continuing our close collaboration with the CVSA, states with dedicated motorcoach inspection programs and our high quality inspectors throughout North America.”
ABA Board Member John Miller of Miller Transportation in Louisville, Ky., represented ABA during the awards ceremony. ABA-member Free Enterprise also participated in the competition by providing high-quality motorcoaches for the contestants to inspect.
