Hope Through History: How Civil War Medicine Shaped Our World
Civil War medicine was all saws and whiskey right? Not so fast! This virtual program from the National Museum of Civil War Medicine will examine how surgeons and nurses changed the course of medical history during the conflict. Many of the basics of healthcare today - hospitals, ambulances, professionalized, scientific medicine - all emerged from the Civil War. We'll take a look at the truth about medical care in the Civil War and how it continues to impact us today.
