All registered delegates are eligible to sign up for one sightseeing tour as quantities permit. Registration is done first-come, first-serve. Tour registrations for non-registered delegates may be cancelled after 30 days if the delegate does not register for Marketplace. As sightseeing tours fill up, they will be removed from the "Activities" page on your Passport. If your preferred sightseeing tour is unavailable, continue to check back as spots may open up due to cancellations.

All sightseeing tours will leave from the Charlotte Convention Center.

Charlotte Now and Then
Once a cotton and textile town, Charlotte’s reinvented itself time and time again. While touring Uptown, witness the transformations for yourself: Former textile factories now serve as urban living concepts, and Victorian estates neighbor Craftsman-style bungalows. At The Billy Graham Library, delve into the legacy of renowned evangelist Billy Graham. Tour a replica of his boyhood home, and discover the far-reaching impact of his work.
Shop Till You Drop
Experience Queen City sophistication at Charlotte’s top shopping hubs. Just off the LYNX Blue Line light rail, popular hangout 7th Street Public Market boasts locally owned food stalls and vendors. The New York Times even highlighted it in its “36 Hours in Charlotte” travel feature. Looking for luxe? Find high-end brands such as Michael Kors and Tory Burch—as well as kid-approved shops like American Girl—at SouthPark Mall.
Curiosity Crash Course
In partnership with Atomz Labs, this educational adventure shows students how science, technology, engineering and mathematics extend beyond the classroom. Discovery Place Science explores the world’s wonders through experiments, science shows, animal encounters and more. And Carowinds amusement park, home to the tallest, fastest giga coaster in the world, takes high-speed hoopla to new heights—literally.
During this behind-the-scenes, interactive experience, find out what makes Carowinds amusement park tick while learning some little-known facts about the almost 50-year-old attraction. Then at curiosity-inspiring Discovery Place Science, design, prototype, create and innovate in Thinker Space, an all-new workshop and makerspace.
Outside the (City) Limits
Explore Belmont’s thriving growth and redevelopment. Learn how the area came to be at the Gaston County Museum of Art & History, and search the stars at The Schiele Museum of Natural History. Budding botanists love Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, known for its Orchid Conservatory. Take in your surroundings as you go; lush forests, rolling hills and the rambling banks of Lake Wylie and the Catawba River make Belmont serene.
Moonshine to the Finish Line
With more than 85 percent of all NASCAR touring series teams located in the Charlotte region, the Queen City is the heart of motorsports country. During a pit stop at the NASCAR Hall of Fame, learn how the sport’s roots are steeped in moonshine, then take a behind-the-scenes tour of Charlotte Motor Speedway. You’ll also have insider access to a race shop where NASCAR stars prepare for race day. Fanatics, start your engines.
Enjoy an all-access pass to Charlotte’s high-profile sports venues. Tour Bank of America Stadium, home of the Carolina Panthers, then scoot over to Spectrum Center for a behind-the-scenes look at the Charlotte Hornets’ digs.
