Join ABA this spring in Washington, D.C. for our annual “Capitol Hill Fly-In” on May 3-4, 2017.  The event will kick-off with a dinner on May 3, followed by a day-long event on Capitol Hill on May 4.  Additionally, on May 3, BusPAC will hold a “Thank You” reception for BusPAC donors.  Take this opportunity to get up to speed on all the changes in Washington, meet with your elected Congressional officials/staff, meet with regulators, and network with other ABA members. 

Registration and participation is free.  However, lodging and transportation will be at your own expense.

FLY-IN DETAILS:

The ABA Fly-In is designed to provide ABA members the opportunity to meet and build or enhance their relationship with their elected federal legislators and staff (U.S. Representatives and Senators).  We will begin with a dinner for Fly-In participants on the evening of Wednesday, May 3, following a special reception for BusPAC donors as a “thank you” for all their support.  Then on Thursday, May 4, the day will start with a briefing in Rayburn House Office Building near the U.S. Capitol, followed by a working lunch and an afternoon of pre-arranged meetings with House and Senate offices.  Participants will receive a briefing package with their individual schedule, maps, talking points and other materials to assist with their respective meetings.   

Due to the nature of legislative business, please bear in mind, not all legislators will be available to meet at the pre-arranged meeting time and you may, instead, meet with his/her staff.  Staff meetings are as valuable as meeting with the legislator directly, as staff often provide the basis for legislative decision making.

We encourage early registration, as the deadline for scheduling purposes will be March 16.  If participants prefer to schedule their own meetings, this can be accommodated, we only request you inform us of your meeting schedule to avoid duplication.  If you have any questions regarding the event, please contact Suzanne M.
