ABA WELCOMES SCIENCE-DRIVEN SHUSTER BUS SAFETY BILL

The American Bus Association today welcomed the introduction of the motorcoach safety bill sponsored by Rep. Bill Shuster (R-Penn.) as landmark legislation because it is the first-ever motorcoach safety bill calling for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to conduct comprehensive scientific research to determine the direction of future regulatory requirements.

PENGUINS URGE GREEN TRAVEL VIA MOTORCOACH TO SAVE THEIR HABITATS FROM CLIMATE CHANGE

Several species of penguins whose habitats are endangered by carbon dioxide emissions launched a public awareness campaign today urging travelers to go by motorcoach, the greenest travel mode by virtue of its drastically lower carbon emissions compared to airlines, trains, and personal automobile, according to several studies.

The Advisory Committee was established by Section 4144 of the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users to provide advice and recommendations to the FMCSA Administrator on motor carrier safety programs and motor carrier safety regulations. Hart's term began March 1, 2007 and will end on September 30, 2008.
