Industry legend and Campus Coach founder, Bert Askwith, turns 101 years old on March 2nd.

Bert founded Campus Coach in 1928 while he was still a student at the University of Michigan, taking students from Ann Arbor, Michigan to the east coast. The company was so successful that he was able to put himself through college with the money he earned. He moved the company to New York in 1931 where it continues to thrive today, operating the business with his daughter Patti Askwith Kenner.

Beyond his success in the motorcoach business, Bert is also known for his generous charitable contributions. Among his favorite charities are the United Way and the University of Michigan.

"Bert is truly an inspiration to all of us in the industry," said ABA President and CEO Peter Pantuso. "Not only has he been a leading force in this industry for over 80 years, he has touched the lives of many people through his philanthropy. And I am honored to be able to call him my friend. On behalf of all of us at ABA, I would like to wish him a very happy birthday!"
