New statistics included in a just-released study update show that the popularity of intercity bus travel continues to surge, according to the DePaul University Chaddick School for Metropolitan Development report released this week, "The Intercity Bus: America's Fastest Growing Transportation Mode – 2010 Update on Scheduled Bus Service."

The American Bus Association (ABA) today urged activists advertising in Oklahoma newspapers in favor of flawed Senate Bill S. 554 to reconsider their campaign, and urged them to support sound, science-driven safety, as well as a reinvestment of ad money into education about why taking the bus is the safest way to travel, and to help ensure engineers and regulators have adequate time to implement proper protocols and scientific methodologies determine the shape of new safety rules.
