4:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Marketplace Gives Back is offering a volunteer day to help GRACE, the 2012 charity. Volunteers are invaluable to GRACE’s Donation Station, the “heart beat” of the GRACE operation. Marketplace Gives Back volunteers will assist customers driving through to donate items; sorting, hanging and tagging items to go directly to the families that GRACE serves and their missions. Additionally, volunteers will take a tour of GRACE’s transitional housing units and see where we will help “raise the roof”!

2011
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). At the age of 4, Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of volunteers across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $30 million towards fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 100 research projects nationally.

Our mission began when the father of an injured Marine introduced two of our volunteers to staff at Walter Reed and Bethesda Naval and they told us what needs were not met by other donors.
